DOLE-ROI in coordination with LGU Villasis conducted “Basic Orientation on Safety and Health and Distribution of TUPAD Personal Protective Equipment” on February 9, 2018 at the Villasis Gymnasium.

“TUPAD” or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers is a community-based assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers and underemployed of DOLE in partnership with the local government of Villasis.

TUPAD beneficiaries are unemployed/ underemployed residents of Villasis and some of them are underemployed drug surrenderees. The beneficiaries will work for 8 hours a day at their respective barangays; de-clogging of canals, repair or improvement of common public facilities and clearing and basic repair of public infrastructure are examples of works that will be undertaken.

Mayor Nato together with Congressman Conrado M. Estrella III, Congressman of the ABONO Partylist, Ms. Fresnaida Gundan, DOLE-EPFO Head and Mr. Arnel Arimas, LGU Villasis PESO Manager distributed the Personal Protective Equipment to the beneficiaries of TUPAD Program.

Mayor Nato expressed his gratitude towards DOLE and Congressman Conrado M. Estrella, III of ABONO Partylist for making TUPAD in Villasis possible.
