In line with Civil Registrar’s Month, Kasalang Bayan was held at the Villasis Gymnasium last February 28, 2018. 72 couples exchanged vows during the civil mass wedding which was solemnized by Mayor Nato.
Kasalang Bayan aims to legalize the union of couples and to legitimize the children who were born illegitimate due to the lack of marriage of their parents.
The Kasalang Bayan was made possible through the collective effort of the Municipal Civil Registrar headed by Ms. Josie Lustina and Human Resources Office headed by Ms. Elsie Rabara. The Kasalang Bayan is also sponsored by the local government unit of Villasis.
During the ceremony, Mayor Nato, Vice Mayor Butch Sison, Mun. Coun. Cheryll Tan, Mun. Coun. Felix Sison, and Mun. Coun. Judith Morden shared inspiring advises to the couples. Mayor Nato also interviewed Mr. Thomas Acevada and Ms. Rose Marie Abutog, a couple who have been living together for 19 years and shared their secret to a long-lasting relationship.
