To emphasize food safety in the food industry and to encourage prevention of water and food borne illnesses are only few among the specific objectivesregarding the recently conducted assembly of food handlers on December 20, 2017 that was facilitated by the Municipal Health Office.
The assembly aims to inform food handlers what are the dos and don’ts when preparing, cooking and storing food to promote consumers and workers health and safety. Importance of food safety and personal hygiene has also been discussed.
Mayor Nonato S. Abrenica reminded the participants about securing legal requirements such as Business and Sanitary Permits of their businesses and expressed his appreciationfor their participation and cooperation.
Food handlers were also trained how proper hand washing should be done and its importance aspersonal hygiene. These lessons imparted to the participants if applied will surely promote and protect the public and workers from harm.
