The Municipal Government of Villasis, Pangasinan headed by Mayor Nonato S. Abrenica together with the Sangguniang Bayan members headed by Vice-Mayor Cheryll Z. Tan, led the inauguration and blessing of the newly installed Modern Rice Milling Facility at Brgy. Unzad, Villasis, Pangasinan on October 22, 2024.
The installation of a modern rice mill is one of the priority projects of Mayor Nato Abrenica aimed to help our farmers by buying their produced palay at a higher price compared to the prevailing buying price and to produce well-milled and affordable rice for consumers. The milled rice will be sold at a subsidized price of P30/kilo, prioritizing indigent families.
Also present during the blessing are Former Mayor Dita Abrenica, Municipal Engr. Vladimir P. Torres, Municipal Agriculturist Dionisio Cariño, LGU Department Heads, farmers, and Rev. Msgr. Numeriano Gabot, Parish Priest of St. Anthony Abbot Church, officiated the blessing.
The Rural Health Center-Annex was also inaugurated after the Rice Mill. The LGU expanded its health facilities to accommodate the increasing number of patients everyday and to provide better health services and well-being for Villasinians.
