Newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan Officials underwent SK Mandatory Training and Orientation on March 26, 2018 at the Villasis Gymnasium. This was conducted by the Local Youth Development Office headed by FVM Roderick ER Mina in coordination with the LGU Villasis and DILG. The said mandatory training aims to prepare the elected officials for their new roles and at the same time Mandatory Training was required by the law for the SK Officials before they can assume their office.

The training covered five modules which was tackled by different Resource Speakers; Decentralization and Local Governance by Ms. Katherine Kate Perez, LGOO II; Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees by FC Arvin B. Castro, Executive Assistant to the Mayor; Meetings and Resolutions by Mrs. Vivian G. Morden, SB Secretary; Planning and Budgeting by MLGOO Eduviges Villanueva, and SK History and its Salient Features by the Local Youth Development Officer, FVM Roderick ER Mina. There’s a “mind-mapping” activity after each session.

After the mandatory training, the newly-elected officials took their oath with Mayor Nato administering.

FM Dita Abrenica also graced the said event. Mayor Nato mentioned said during  his speech, “A leader must be able to transfer ideas into reality” and encouraged the new officials saying “Ipagpatuloy ang magandang gawain, Mabuhay ang SK!”
