Twenty-one (21) participants composed of Child Development Workers and teacher-applicant completed the 3-day training on the "Creation of Local Materials" conducted by Villasis Municipal Library (VML) on May 23-25, 2017.

Said event was part of the month-long Summer Program 2017 of VML. The participants were taught how to make use of simple books, picture dictionaries, and create stories using Ilocano dialect. These local learning materials were made using an application called Bloom. It has readily available templates which make the creation of books easy and save time from formatting and lay-outing pictures.

After the 3-day training, the participants were able to produce their own outputs which includes short stories and picture dictionaries which are written in Ilocano with English translations. They were seen very happy and grateful for introducing to them about software. Lorma Lopez CDW of Barangay San Blas said, “I am very grateful that I have attended this training because with the use of Bloom app,I can now easily write the stories my parents and grandparents have told me when I was young. I wanted to share these to my pupils. And with this, I can create more stories and activities for them.”

The participants were awarded with certificate of participation after the training.
