“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” HEBREWS 13:16

Apart from the frontliners, the daily wagers, senior citizens and self-employed are among those people who call for much needed support on this pandemic crisis that we are facing. The battle for this dreadful virus has brought us to realize that material things, wealth and position can vanish in just a snap, that everything you have is not as important as having a healthy body, a simple life and a safe environment. Thus, in this moment of challenge, we are bound to be more conscious of our health and most significantly, to be a better person who knows how to value the ideals of patriotism and volunteerism.

Since the Municipality of Villasis is under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), effective on March 16, 2020 to April 12, 2020, the people’s travel and movement were restricted and/or limited to accessing basic necessities and provision for health care services, in response to the increasing number of people inflicted with COVID-19.

As the core mission of our institution, to converge as one family, with one heart, the Villasis District I teachers and school heads under the leadership of Public Schools District Supervisor, Dr. Jocelyn Ragasa Mina, ignite the spirit of brotherhood. A relief operation and provision of protective materials have been carried out for the frontliners and for the people of Villasis. This is in collaboration with the parents and stakeholders from the elementary schools of Amamperez, Barangobong, Lipay, Maburac, Piaz, Puelay, West Poblacion and the Villasis I Central School SPED Center.

The resources, which amounted to One Hundred Eight Thousand Six Hundred Forty Pesos (P108,640.00) were voluntarily shared by the teachers, school heads, the district supervisor’s family, the parents and alumni.

Cash donations were used to buy foods for daily sustenance such as rice, canned goods, cup noodles, etc.  Protective materials such as face masks/shields were distributed to the people to help them meet the basic needs for survival and to protect themselves from hazards, brought about by the transmission of the virus from one person to another.

Villasis District I is continuously offering their service and generously extending their helping hands to contribute something to those who need most of their help, ensuring that the welfare and safety of every Villasinian is worth accounted for.

With the joint efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff of Villasis District I, the Local Government Unit (LGU), members and officers of Parents Teachers Association (PTA), stakeholders and volunteers, the spirit of oneness will continue to spread love and care to people until we totally overcome this crisis.
