For the 2nd consecutive year the Municipality of Villasis has been accorded 1st place to the prestigious Regional Gawad Kalasag 2018 search under Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, 1st to 3rd Class Munipality category.
Mayor Nato, LDRRM Officer Martin James Kenneth Sison together with Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Roderick ER Mina and Municipal Engineer Vladimir P. Torres n received the plaque and P50,000 cash prize which was awarded by Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Melchito M. Castro and ABONO Party-list Representative Vini Nola A. Ortega on July 27, 2018 at Oasis Country Resort, San Fernando, La Union.
Regional Gawad KALASAG 2018- Kalamidad At Sakuna Labanan SAriling Galing Ang Kaligtasan (KALASAG) aims at promoting adaptive communities thus leading to responsive and resilient communities. LGU-Villasis passed the standards and criteria through the collective effort of the local government unit led by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council under the LDRRMO Martin James Kenneth Sison.
