Eighty (80) public elementary teachers from Villasis District II successfully finished the 3-day Training/Workshop on the Creation of Local Language Materials held at Villasis Municipal Library on October 26, 27 & 30, 2017.

The training was entitled It’s Time to Bloom. The Trainer, Merly S. Zambrano, Librarian Designate of Villasis Municipal Library, introduced to the participants a computer application software which the creation of materials is made easy. The software is downloadable for free from the internet.  Villasis II Teachers were the second batch of teachers who underwent with the same training.

On the first day of the training, Dr. Belen C. Bautista, District II Supervisor gave a message to all the participants. She said that the training is so timely because the district lacks supplementary materials written in the local dialect. She challenged them that they must be able to produce their own outputs after the 3-day training. “In order to teach effectively, you must get the attention of your students. To do that, you must use instructional materials that are easy to understand coupled with nice pictures to draw their attention”, Dr. Bautista added.

Mayor Nato graced the training by giving a message. He thanked all the participants for joining the training. “Together with the effort of our Librarian, we are conducting free trainings like this to equip you, teachers, with computer knowledge and skills that will help you teach more effectively. Gusto kolahattayomakasabaysa advancement nadalangmgamakabagongteknolohiya”, Mayor Abrenica said.

Before the training formally started, participants were asked about their expectations on the training. And there was also a post-evaluation on the 3rd day of training. Ms. Janice Racoza, a Substitute Teacher of Unzad Elementary School, said, “I am expecting that I will be able to really learn how to create materials especially story books and also putting images on it that I can use during story telling time with my pupils.” At the end of the training when Ms. Racoza was asked if her expectation was met, she gladly said, “I have learned morethan what I was expecting.”

Mrs. Madelaine A. Mones was also thankful having been participated the training. “The training was fun. It was very easy following and learning all the instructions of Ma’am Merly. This a big help to me because the fact that I am handling kindergarten pupils, the foundation of learning starts from this level. I want my pupils to learnIloko in an easy an exciting way by providing them with these materials that I have created and will create using Bloom”, said Mrs. Mones.

More than a hundred outputs, pictures dictionaries, basic books and big books, were donated to the library.
