Villasis Municipal Library was recognized as Top 3 Performing Tech4Ed Center for Library Category in the country. The award was given during the 12th Knowledge Exchange Conference held on September 13-15, 2017 at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City, Manila.The Plaque of recognition was received by Merly S. Zambrano, Librarian Designate/Tech4ED Center Manager.
The recognition was given by the Department of Information and Communications Technology. It was given to top performing centers for its excellent performance having registered high number of Tech4ED platform users leading to the increased utilization of Information and Communications Technology in the community.
During the Knowledge Exchange Conference of Luzon Cluster 2 (composed of 13 provinces in Luzon) last July, Villasis Municipal Library landed in the 14th place but is a span of one (1) month, the center jumped into 3rd place entire the Philippines for the Library Category. The big leap was the result of the library orientation conducted by the center to high school students. After learning the benefits they could get through the Tech4ED platform, the center has become a busy place for students who are doing research for their assignments and projects.
